The ARRL RTTY Roundup is run on the first weekend of the year. With the improving propagation conditions, 20 meters was on fire!My antenna is a simple end-fed wire no higher than 25ft and I run 100W in RTTY mode.
15, 40 and 80 were also very active and I had several offshore band openings. For hams working on their WAS (Worked All States) certificate, this RTTY contest is a good way to make needed contacts.I worked 39 States and Canada in North America. Offshore; Hawaii, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Suriname and Uruguay. RTTY in "Search and Pounce" mode is a good way to dip your toes into contesting.FLDIGI, Ham Radio Deluxe, DXLabs and N1MM Logger provides the needed software, 73Dave - N5EKW
