I lost a good friend and business partner, Rick Zamarripa Tuesday evening February 1, 2022. He was 55yrs old. It is hard to express the loss in words and I am sure many of you knew him in many different ways. Rick has been with Electronic Parts Outlet since the early 1990’s working with the Bretch family, later taking charge of a second store in the Willowbrook area which ran until 2002. Both stores consolidated as one where Rick Zamarripa and Chris Macha took on management rolls until they ultimately bought the store in 2013 and it operates through present. Rick deeply loved his family and always put his family time first. Customers could see this in his giddy excitement as he showed off photos of his new grandchild, Celeste. He is survived by his wife, Yvette and his three sons Zachary, Brandon, and Nicholas and his two cousins Arthur and Jasmin who he raised as his own children. He was very proud of all of them and spoke of them and their accomplishments frequently. I believe Rick truly loved what he did, especially the human interaction part of the business. He always worked very hard and took great care in making people feel welcome and making personable connections with people. He knew how to make people laugh. Rick had a character that is hard to find these days, when you knew Rick, you knew who he was below the surface. He could be counted on and he had a genuinely good heart. He always wanted to see that everyone got a fair chance and no one be left out. Rick was really good to work with and treated everyone around him as family. He is truly loved by the EPO staff. He would do anything he could for anybody even if it meant him doing without. He loved to Barbecue and the preparation of it. He was so proud of his 3 sons and cousins, but he raised and influenced far more than his own kids. He took much pride in seeing the young people who worked with us take direction and move on to great things after they left their jobs with us. I have been holding high hopes he might be able to rejoin us at some point never realizing how short time can be. At this time funeral arrangements are unknown, we will be posting information on our Facebook page as we find out more.
