Well, the 2022 BVARC Quad Club Field Day is finally over. Volunteers and
participants from BVARC, KARS, TDXS and University of Houston ARC came out in
numbers that has never been seen for Field Day for Houston or possible the
state. The hard work of Anthony, W5LIC and Kori, WX5KR the Field Day
coordinator and assistant, brought people out in droves over the three days
with over 125 coming out on Saturday alone. People from the Boy Scouts and
Civil Air Patrol made of several of the larger groups that visited the Field
Day site.
Thanks to Anthony and Kori, the operators also brought the largest score that
BVARC/Quad Club group has ever had. Unofficial scores so are 4298 contacts with
a preliminary score of approximately 15,300. It will still take a few days to
calculate the extra points and determine the final score. And that will not
really be the final score since several hams operated from home and we do not
know their scores yet. I feel that the final score will put us near the 17,000
mark which will be a first for the group.
Again, thanks to Anthony and Kori for their hard work. And thanks to all the
volunteers for helping with set-up and tear-down. More thanks to the operators
that worked around the clock making all the contacts. Last but not least thanks
to Daphne and Scott for their hard work preparing and serving the great food.
