  _DATE / TIME_
  *Sunday, July, 10, 2022* / 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm Central Time.
  _INTRODUCTION_
  With the approach of the 2022 Hurricane Season here in SE Texas,
  emergency preparedness and communication is ever more important.
  The purpose of this mock drill is to test our ability to
  communicate during a potential emergency.
  _SCOPE_
  The Texas GMRS Network will be conducting a
  regional operational readiness mock drill at the date and time
  above to evaluate communications abilities. We invite all other
  clubs, groups, teams and individuals to join us in participation.
  _PURPOSE_
  Demonstrate emergency communication abilities. Prepare a unified
  and proactive response.
  _PARTICIPATION_
  We are requesting families, emergency groups, amateur radio clubs,
  network repeater systems, agencies, as well as individuals, within
  the surrounding Houston Metro Area, to participate along with us
  in this demonstration.
  _OPERATION PERIOD_
  Within a 4-hour operational period; beginning at 5pm and
  concluding by 9pm. We request operational readiness, with the
  exception of priority traffic.
  _OBJECTIVE_
  To use commonly available equipment and communication paths to
  test our abilities.
  _PARTICIPANTS_
  Harris / Galveston County REACT Team #6272
  Texas GMRS Network
  South East Texas Amateur Club (SETAC)
  Lake Conroe Amateur Club
  South Coast Reflector
  East Harris Amateur Radio Club (EARS)
  _PROCEDURE_
       1. 5:30-6:00pm
             a. Announcement marking the beginning of
  the operational readiness mock drill.
             b. Establish situational awareness of current weather
  conditions
             c. Pass along any club announcements, such as upcoming
  club meetings, or any other club announcements.
        2. 6:00-7:00 pm
               a. Establish accountability of membership, including
  club members that are out of
  town or that have other commitments, using a club roster or
  check-in procedure.
        3. 7:00-8:00 pm
               a. Assign Liaison Officer(s) and establish
  cross-services communication with
  representatives of other groups participating in the mock drill.
  The net controller
  should remain on the system they are operating, and should not be
  a Liaison.
              b. The Liaison Officer(s) are asked to practice
  passing simple messages such as
  their club status, upcoming meeting or other upcoming events.
        4. 8:00-9:00 pm
              a. All operators are asked to establish local
  communication through alternative
  forms ARS, VHF Simplex, CB, GMRS/FRS, MURS, etc.
              b. See attached form ICS-205 for frequency assignments
        5. 9:00-9:30 pm
               a. Allow members to report about their results of
  simplex and conclusions
  _CONCLUSION_
  Through this demonstration, we have provided an example of the
  many benefits of working together to create a disaster response
  plan. We encourage everyone to continue enriching the greater
  Houston Metro Area with your contributions to your local radio clubs.
