The meeting wasn't in Stafford. It was in West Houston close to the
Bellaire & Addicks Clodine intersection.
We all know hams love food, but it shouldn't be the deciding factor if
people are going to attend. I checked the BVARC Beacon and emails from
the reflector and I saw no mention of food, and other than on the Ice
Cream Social & Chili Supper, food wasn't really a part of the BVARC
General Membership Meetings.
There was an email from Jeff Greer that asked people to specify whether
they were going to attend, but unfortunately I didn't notice that in my
email application until today. I've never seen a survey in my emails before.
One question I have is how does this meetings attendance compare to
other months' meetings? I agree that RSVPs would help in this situation.
If a large number had showed up and still not ate anything, would it be
any different?
I stopped going because of my work schedule, but I wonder what can we do
to motivate people to start attending again like they did ten years ago.
btw I did not mean to bypass Robert Polinski's post about meetings. I
think it would be good to know if there are consistent issues with
people attending the meetings.

I live in the heights. I will not be attending any meetings in
stafford at 6 or 7pm on a weekday. it would take me 2 hours to drive
that at that time. If the meeting were at 5 or 530pm i could leave
work and go straight there and it would only be 40min. (I work 1/2
way there). I dont know the statistics of this club as to how many
work and geographical distribution but maybe work on having meetings
at the center at a time when people can attend. Or just call them
names and experss your upset.

I think RSVPs would solve the problem of wasted expense. A good

I live in Tomball with my wife who is recovering from cancer. It
is difficult for me to get to BVARC meetings, but I would like to
attend when opportunity allows.
