What happened ith the location at the Sugar Land Community Center opposite the Sugar Land USPS, it was EASY TO FIND & had more than sufficient parking to accommodate members and VISITORS.?

To me, it appears the frequent changes of locations, often off the beaten path (In addition to not being able to meet during Covid-19.) may be the largest contributing factor.

To me, DISTANCE & not being able to drive since the Spring of 2011 a contributing factor.

USE of ZOOM a NON- Starter for me, I had considerable difficulty getting the APP downloaded & operable on both PC and Smartphone, at first my Norton LIFELOCK 360 Security software RED FLAGGED IT on the PC & could not get it to work properly on Smartphone (Both Samsung Galaxy & Google Pixel 6a.)

Why NOT: SKYPE, which can be EASILY SETUP on PC's and Smartphones (REGARDLESS of OS), it's a STANDARD APP for ALL Microsoft Computers & I am told works on the APPLE IO'S (Both Desktop and I-Phone) as well as I-Phone..???

MAJOR TV Networks have used SKYPE many years for REMOTE INTERVIEWS & BREAKING NEWS EVENTS.

I think several things have caused low attendance at BVARC meetings. First and foremost was the lack of meetings during the covid. Second was the fact that the meeting place has changed quite a few times in the last few years. As people get older, we like consistency. Same time, same place. I am not blaming the club from finding a new location, since much of it is unavoidable. Maybe a survey of club members & non members would be in order as to why they are not coming to the meetings.

 1. Location of current meeting place (Fire Station) Too far- not big
    enough, Hard to locate?
 2. I can attend by zoom, do not need to show up.
 3. No presentations that interest me.
 4. No food.
 5. Conflicts with other activities.
 6. Comments?

Maybe someone could put this survey in a form, ether on the reflector or web site that would be easy to fill out (Eddie?) There well maybe other questions to ask, these are just some I though of. I myself live about 60m from the current meeting location and would attend every meeting (which I did when I lived in SW Houston) but have to balance the current meeting when in SW area for work. 120m rt is hard as I do not like having to drive that far a night. But most club members live in SW Houston, Fort Bend Co. so that should not be a reason for not attending.   Robert KD5YVQ
