Bruce/Walter,
Thanks for the input.
There was no option to run as admin on the msi install file, but i did open my
cmd prompt as admin and attempt to run from there and it failed too.
I talked to w5akc in the side, sent him the file, and it installed without
issue on his win11 box.
The only prompt i get thats editable is the initial location of the app to go
to program files, which I’m ok with. The error I receive says it cant write
temp files. Ive installed the appl before but on an older box (either win 7 or
10) about ~3 yrs ago, so it does appear to be a “problem with my set”. I’ll
email david in NL soon and see what he recommends.
I’m running win 10 pro and tried all three versions (beta etc) available so I’m
certain its probably just micro$oft just trying to “protect me”…
Thanks for validating that its just me.

You will need to right click on the file you want to run and select "Run as
Administrator". Even though you are the administrator, Microsoft decided it was
best to confirm that you want to run it as administrator. Don't ask me why it
just works when you do it.

Chris,

I don’t use the DVmega dongle, but I use the ThumbDV dongle, as well as 4 other
Ambe servers I have setup here, all with BlueDV.

It seems to work fine on my PC, as well as my Android cell phone.

The installation should be a simple launch of the MSI file.

Not sure why you would get that error, unless you tried to install it into a
folder other than the default path. But that’s a reach on my part.

Other than that, you might email David directly, as he’s pretty good about
responding. But keep in mind he’s in Europe, and it may not be till morning
before he sees the message.

All the best,
Walter/K5WH

Subject: [BVARC] DVMega and BlueDV software install question

Hello. Ive never really been too big into DMR, but I have a DVMega usb dongle
(actually forgot I had it to tell you the truth) and Im trying to install
BlueDV on a windows 10 box. Has anyone successfully installed this app on
win10? Im admin of my box but I keep getting install failure because the msi
installer cannot write a temp file to my documents folder. Curious if anyone
knows a work around on this.

TIA
