Apparently they did it for the potential of copper in the hardline.. or maybe they were just into general scrap metal sales. Story said they stole all the equipment out of the building too.

All joking aside, the lawn crew arrived at the tower site to do some bush hog work and discovered the active 200 ft tall tower on site was missing. This was in Jasper Alabama.
