I’m not sure I would get rid of the MFJ 259. And, I really like my nanoVNA. Having built lots of homebrew wire antennas, you can’t beat the convenience of the MFJ. Once you get your center frequency sorted out and are happy with your antenna’s SWR, use your nanoVNA for doing sweeps and data files. Also, if I’m working outside, my nanoVNA is hard to read in the sunlight, and too fiddley with all the small buttons you have to click. Plus the small screen.
Great tools for the tool box and I use them both. 73, Steve W5ICR From: BVARC <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Rod Neumann via BVARC Sent: Saturday, December 28, 2024 12:29 PM To: BVARC Reflector <[email protected]> Cc: Rod Neumann <[email protected]> Subject: [BVARC] antenna analyzers -- what to buy I've got a MFJ 259c (or is it 269?) that even has a nice cloth purse... need to sell. QUESTION: can I get some recommended new technology replacement ideas? I see NanoVNA on Amazon in a few different flavors and prices. So I'm open to suggestions re which to buy for the best bang-per-buck? W5IE Rod Neumann cell: (832)444-0192 New Ulm, TX 78950
