50.80 to 50.98 in 20khz steps are still used for RC models...1 watt out, only 
need to have callsign label on xmtr. No IDing needed per part 97..72 and 74 MHz 
channels available.  72 for non flying and 74 for model aircraft only iirc. 900 
and 2.4 ghz unlicensed for anything.. given the mess on 900, I'd avoid that 
band for RC units

There were RC aircraft radios that worked on 6m.  While they were never common, 
but they have faded away now as most everything is on 2.4g and some on 900mhz
