What I should have done was taken one more step, that was to loosen the drain plug on the carburetor bowl. I had to buy a new carburetor. Turn the fuel supply off and let it run out of gas instead. Then hit the off switch. This will prevent fuel from staying in the carb/floats and it congenialing. It wouldn’t run on gasoline. I have had carburetors apart before, so I dig in. The float valve, main jet, and bowl were full of gunk. A few good shots of carb cleaner spray and a quick wipe down and I was back in business! Seriously. If anyone has issues with their generator, sing out. Retirement means all kinds of time for such things! 73 Dan KJ5IZK On Wed, Jun 18, 2025 at 9:57 AM ralph phillips via BVARC <bvarc@bvarc.org <mailto:bvarc@bvarc.org> > wrote: Dan commented his generator would fire on starting fluid but not run. I had the same problem last December. It was still under warranty so i had it checked by a service tech. He discovered the carbon monoxide sensor was bad and keeping the machine from running. He disconnected the sensor and it ran fine. 4 months later he still could not get a replacement sensor so the manufacturer gave me a whole new machine. Good luck! Ralph.
