Dan,
Simply ask Chat GPT or Copilot to "show the designs of a 5/8th wavelength
antenna".   It will give you reference articles from hams that show the
design, etc.  I know, I just did it.....more than you'll ever want
to know about 5/8 wl verticals.

Also, check out any version of the ARRL Antenna Handbook or the ARRL
Antenna Compendiums.  There are articles in there about the 5/8th WL
 Chris pointed out Ham Radio and CQ and 73 magazines.....available online
at various web sites....complete histories.  I know of at least two 5/8th
articles exist in Ham Radio mag I used years ago to figure them out.
