I’m happy to help you design/make the coils. I’m not sure what part of town you’re in but I’m over in Pearland.

Dan,   Look at the Bvarc Beacon.  Aug and  Sept 2019.   The 2 parts explain how to design and build a loaded 80 mx dipole.   It can be linear or inverted V set up.   It is similar to LKJ’s.

The old fashioned inverted vee is always a winner. Get the center as high as possible. 63 foot legs on either side. Feed with RG-8 or similar. That shoukd get you on 3.9 MHz with a reasonable SWR. Excellent antenna for contacts in the lower 48.

Howdy,

I am listening to Big John on the Stir Crazy net today. We are chatting all about what we have done for one another and such.

I am itching to get on the 80 meter rag chew. The biggest hold up is an antenna. I am drawn to homebrew plans, if possible.

I have an end fed halfwave that should tune to 80m, but the length is pretty much for my little lot. 125 to 130 feet is a challenge...

I have looked at Big John's antenna plans but I am intimidated by the loading coils...

Any ideas?
