To all:
Robert worked for me several years ago as jack-of all-trades solving
all issues
electrical in my home. His amazing span of knowledge was very impressive
and useful. He was more than just a super handy man, he repaired and
serviced
all my appliances, internet problems ,and HVAC and electrical issues. But
here's the thing I most remember about him, he literally saved my life
after a
very serious TIA I had while he was at my home. He quickly administered
CPR
when I fell suddenly unconscious and was not breathing. He stayed with
me until
the EMS guys arrived, but he literally brought back from the dead. Later he
revealed to me that while working with an EMS team years before, he had
administered CPR to hundreds of people bringing them back from the dead
as he did me.
God bless his gentle soul,
Gary Sitton, K5AMH

Mike,
Very sad news... I am shocked. Dianne and I send our deepest
condolences and prayers to his family... He will be sorely missed.
Great ham and person... one of the people that make the fabric of a
great land we live in... Robert made it better. I just got my antenna
fixed and had been listening for Robert. We always had great
conversations on the repeater. Just not enough eyeball QSO's. 72 is
not old! We lost a great friend... 😢 73, Pat KJ5Y

I would like to inform the club of Robert Polinski, KD5YVQ,
passing on Monday, February 2^nd , 2026. Robert was 72 and
lived in Kingwood and was a life-long resident of the
Houston area.
For those who only know Robert by name and call sign, he was
truly a “jack of all trades”. I looked the phrase up and
found the rest of it truly matched Robert – “Ajack of all
trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than a master
of one". Robert’s career took him from computer networking
to electronics repair to industrial construction to
automotive maintenance. His hobbies covered an even bigger
area from motorcycle riding to fire-truck restoration to
amateur radio. Robert was a multi-talented individual that
will truly be missed.
As most of you know, Robert was the trustee of the 146.94
repeater. Robert took the reins of 94 in the 2000’s from
WA5CYI. He then over saw the new transmission line and
antenna installation in 2013. Robert maintained the 94
repeater for nearly 20 years and worked tirelessly to make
sure it stayed on the air during that time. Robert was a
person that not only took care of the equipment he took care
of the hams that used it.
As more information is known about surviving family and
memorial services, I will pass it along to the club.
Please keep Robert’s family in your thoughts.
