Allen was a good friend of mine. It was Field Day in 1994 or 1995, my daughter and I were working a satellite before the start at CLARC’s site that year.
Allen came over and watched and thought it was kinda cool. Need I say that was all he needed to get hooked. We remained friends ever since. I too went to his house many times and knew his family. I took him out to lunch a few years ago and spent the afternoon with him. He was a BVARC president as was I. It was wonderful to have his friendship and to talk about all his satellite operating exploits.
