| Is Richard’s email really the one listed, or have scammers scraped data from the club website and used a bogus email address trying to scam you?
We see this type of attack against the KARS board occasionally
Richard wasn't hacked. If you look at the header of his email, the sender's address is not his. This is a common phishing approach because a lot of people don't look and a lot of mobile email clients make it very hard to see.
Somewhere, Richard's name and his association with BVARC got scraped and added to a list. That list was used to spoof an email in his name to our list hoping you might reply with your Zelle or Chime info in order to be "helpful."
It's exceeding unlikely that this originated from any system or service that Richard controls.
