From: John Bonica <[email protected]> Date: Sun, Aug 16, 2026 at 02:10 Subject: [tdxs-list] The Award They Ain’t Made Yet *I finally activated every Parks on the Air reference in Texas — all 221 of them.* It took several years, a lot of miles, radios and antennas, some great friends, and more than a few adventures along the way. To mark the occasion, I put together a short video telling the story, with photos from the activations and an original country song called *“The Award They Ain’t Made Yet.”* There were state parks, historic sites, wildlife management areas, islands and beaches — along with tangled antennas, bats, feral hogs, a deer encounter, boats, long drives, and thousands of QSOs with hams who answered my calls. The video also ends with an *“In Gratitude”* section recognizing some of the people who helped make the journey possible, including the POTA volunteers who keep this remarkable program running.
