Status Needed to get the source tar ball. Then I d/l'd an experimetal patch from one of the support techs at Linuxant. Applied the patch and recompiled the drivers. It ran hsfconfig and the unresolved cpu_khz msg os now gone. All drivers and modules were loaded and remained after a reboot. Logged in after reboot and used kppp to query the modem. Worked ok. Modem device exists, just need the account info for the student. It is currently using the free driver (14.4k limit.) I needed the login information for linuxant site which I didn't have on me. Once you do have this, login on the website, on the machine rerun hsfconfig as root. It will give you the ID to plug into the web site, which will give you the license key which you type into the prompt in hsfconfig.
