Hello all,

Both on- and off-line the topic of volunteer training, cross-training,
documenting, and building machines has come up. So, I'd like to float
the idea of a having a build competition.

The idea is that we first build a complete student machine, one that can
connect to CIN and browse the BWorks website via the modem. We then
disassemble that machine into components: drive, modem, NIC, monitor,
etc. For the competition we time how long it takes each of us to build
the machine. The clock starts at the word "Go" and stops when the
browser displays the BWorks website via the modem. I'd be willing to
buy lunch at Thurman for whomever can build a machine the fastest.

The purpose is not so much to see who is fastest, but rather to learn
from each other about how to efficiently build these machines and to
document that process.

Thoughts?

Regards,
- Robert
