Just to make sure, the students' username on the computers that they take home is still 'student', correct?
So their Desktop folder will be located at /home/student/Desktop, correct? I ask this because I have to hard-code the path to Scratch in the "Run Scratch" launcher that will be placed on students' desktops. The launcher just calls /home/student/Desktop/Scratch/runscratch.sh The scratch installation plan goes like this: Students get a CD with 2 things on it: 1) Scratch directory 2) A .desktop link pointing to Scratch. Installation goes like this: 1) Copy Scratch folder and desktop icon from CD to student's desktop. 2) Double-click the desktop icon to run Scratch. I didn't find a way to make the "installer" more robust by pointing the link to "$HOME/Desktop", but this should work for this class. I will need to get together with a ghosting image guru to put Scratch on the next batch of students' computers. It's pretty simple, actually. --Nate
