ByteWorks Staff, John House recently withdrew from active volunteering with ByteWORKS. At the time, he was the Hardware Procurement Administrator so we have to fill that slot. The job Description is as follows: Hardware Procurement Administrator This position includes the solicitation, pick up and delivery to the shop of hardware donations. It should also include triage, initial documentation and placement into inventory. It should include the procurement of any required components such as modems that are required by the Shop Leader to complete the refurbish of the required computers. This position will probably require one or two assistants at times. This position requires maintaining contact with organizations in the community who utilize a lot of computers, then convincing them that they should donate their used equipment to BWorks. The primary objective is to get the required number of late model used computers to meet the needs of the ByteWORKS social programs and Enterprise Sales. The required number of machines will be provided by the Shop Leader and the Enterprise Leader. There is an existing list of Hardware donor organizations with contact information. This list must be updated and expanded. The Shop Leader will provide a requisition for any parts or components that the ByteWORKS Shop might need in order to refurbish the computers that cannot be salvaged from incoming machines. The Hardware Procurement Administrator will do the purchasing. If you would like to be considered for this position, or know of someone outside the organization who might be interested in volunteering, please let me know. (Reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as I don't receive responses to BWorks_Shop) The need will be posted on VolunteerMatch in a week or so if no one on the current staff is interested. Steve DeLorey
