Well, it look as if Doc chose a very wise time to leave STL for warmer climes!! The snow didn't slow us down, though; and the BicycleWORKS guys made a snow bicycle dude outside, using bike chains for dreadlocks, wearing a "volunteer" t-shirt. Fun!!
This was Week Five for classes; Nate had to scramble a bit to get Scratch installed on all the classroom machines, but he managed. Not many drop-outs this session, it looks like a full dozen will graduate next week. Nate and Jenny got the gmail accounts created for the students. Brad, Josh and I got the bags assembled (keyboard, mouse, two power cords, and a new set of speakers). Brad and Josh brought up monitors from the basement. So, we are all set for graduation next week. Craig Smith, Brad, Josh and I worked on triaging machines, making "zombie" boxes, and setting up machines for sale. Maybe it was the snowy weather, but there was a huge rush on buying computers -- we sold four of them!! There is only one left in the window right now. Volunteers are working on getting more machines ready for sale. There were several more children signed up for the Saturday classes, and one adult who asked for information on the adult class. Doc, we miss you, hope you are having a wonderful time. See you all next Saturday! Theresa
