At what price-point is worth our while to simply purchase refurbished machines?
WITS is selling pallets of PIIIs like the classroom machines for $20 per machine[1]. They have a minimum of 800 MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM, 10 GB HDD, 10/100 NIC, video, sound, USB2. The ones I looked at had 20 GB drives. They have been tested and are ready to go except for an OS. [1] If you purchase an entire pallet it works out to about $12 per machine.
