I wasn't before but I am now. I had cloned the same Debian image onto two different machines and did an 'apt-get upgrade' on one. When it finished I did an 'apt-get upgrade' on the other machine. The second update should have got much faster, i.e. should have downloaded the packages in excess of 1 MB/s. However, it was downloading at the same speed as the first, approximately 60 kB/s. That suggests that the second machine either wasn't using the proxy, the proxy wasn't caching the download, or the proxy wasn't up. Any thoughts? Regards, - Robert
