FYI, I've helped two people in the last month install AT&T DSL, and it
seems they have changed their setup a little.  They have a new type of
modem that retains its own PPPoE username/password and has its own web
interface.  From a browser you go to 192.168.1.254 and there you enter
the PPPoE username and password--no longer is the PC software (or
router) responsible for passing that to the modem.  That may be good
news for those installing from Linux...
