Clone machine had bad RAM, which apparently corrupted the filesystem.
Removed RAM (down to 256 MB) and rebuilt machine using Ubuntu 8.04.1
on a newer 80 GB drive.  I dropped the machine off in the shop last
night.

To Do:
- add CD writer
- assign pseudo-static IP address
- test
