Hi,

If I remember correctly, yes... although I'm not completely sure
where.  Polynomials were defined inductively and from an algebraic
perspective, and I remember defining a map that built a real-valued
function from a polynomial and then developing the theory of
derivative of those things.  I'm not sure whether that was changed
afterwards.
