Ahh, I see. Lets take a step back and make sure I understand what the problem is. You have a c++ string. You then transcode that to an XMLCh which is Xerces internal format. You then do 2 things:

1) You get the data from the DOM Tree and put it in a log of some sort and it seems like garbage if the locale is set to Japanese.

2) You print the file out using DOMWriter and then when you look at it in internet explorer it does not have the characters in you expect. However, if you just put the string into a file yourself and save it they appear fine.


Can you confirm that my understanding is correct? Also, can you tell me how you put it into the log. Do you get the node and then transcode it back to a string? Can you also confirm that it does not appear corrupted in your normal locale. Finally, 1 other thing occurs to me. How are you making a c++ string with these characters in as it does not support multi byte characters?
