Hi
I am getting a Linker error while compiling my piece of code with Xerces
library.
[Hint: static member xercesc_2_3::XMLUni::fgXercescDefaultLocale must be
defined in the program]
I have got this error before while implementing Singleton pattern when a
static data member is defined in the class header. So this is not specific to
Xerces but issue with the compiler. The workaround which I noticed in the
already available code seems to be to avoid a static data member in the class
header file and define it within the static method that creates the singleton
object in the implementation (cpp) file. Well surely not a ideal thing to do
but still a possible workaround being used in many places.
When you get this with Xerces, surely the above workaround is ruled out. Have
anyone addressed this before? Is there any compiler option that needs to be set
or anything else that I am missing. Your kind help in this will be deeply
appreciated.
