The good news is that 2.7.0 already links statically out of the box (for VC7.1) as I wrote.

Looking at the wiki page you referenced, I didn't define the XML_LIBRARY preprocessor. All I did was use the provided static build configurations and then point to the resulting static libraries. That's why I suggested we have the instructions right there in Xerces not somewhere else on the web.

It would be useful if you or others could test and confirm my suggested text.
