My personal feeling is that there is really no relevance to "we use this and it's important" comments. That simply doesn't matter at all. The only question to me is whether there will be anyone prepared to (and capable of) fixing issues. And I suppose there's a parallel underlying debate over what constitutes acceptable risk to the community.
