Fix For: 3.3.1
Some legacy code paths not likely to be used are making gethostbyname calls
with a size value miscomputed. Removing the code would be best, but to avoid
any platform coverage issues, there's a simple fix in case they're still in use.
Someone else can remove the code if they prefer of course.
