So what's the conclusion? What is the real positive solution to a "Do
my homework" post?
To be honest, this wasn't a 'do my homework' question (I didn't mean to imply that with my last mail - just giving an example of another problem we have on here) - this was more of a time sink question (See http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#explicit)
I guess we can simply ignore them and next time
they won't appear here...
Thing is, the questions are always being asked by people new to the group. Despite the requirement of netiquette to 'lurk' or read past posts before jumping right in to get a feel for a group, people fail to do this.
Thomas - could we perhaps have a multi-choice questionnaire based on the Smart Questions article which has to be passed before allowing posts through from the moderation queue? :D (j/k of course - the admin to implement it would be a nightmare!)
