Isn't C the foundation for C++? Or are we talking another Pascal; useful as
a learning tool but not much else?

I have MS Visual C++ here, so that's the compiler/dev environment I'll be
working in. Right now, I'm looking at the books listed at that link to see
which ones I can afford (there's a few hundred bucks in books there
<Gulp!>). I'm hoping that I can get away with the first book being the only
I get for a bit, until funds become more available; DW's been out of work
for 6 months with no end in sight, and I'm bringing in a pittance at best.
<Sigh> I'm also looking for an online class but not finding much worthwhile
there yet either.
