Depends on the platform... Linux has pthreads (there is also pthreads
available for Win32), Windows may have it's own threading libraries also. As
for multitasking, all modern operating systems are multitasking, you will
need to be more specific as to what platform you are on, as different
operating systems provide different ways of running multiple programs at
once.
