In my experience it seems that perl is rapidly losing ground to cleaner languages like ruby and python. Also, I suspect that the primary tool for most linux/unix admins is still just good old fashion /bin/sh shell scripting. I spent nearly 2 years doing part-time perl programming... Ugh... You really have to be something of a masochist to use it when scripting languages like python are available. Josh
