On Linux, you can also get a lot of good info from the /proc virtual
filesystem, including pci & scsi bus info.

Some systems (like Red Hat Enterprise Linux) come with a great tool
called dmidecode that dumps a bunch of hardware info out (similar to
Solaris prtconf command).
