Why are you rolling your own list? Use one of the many pre-defined templates out there. Your compiler even has one called 'list'. IMO, not as intuitive as Safe C++ List, but you need to have a pretty good reason to NOT use it. If your teacher is asking for you to implement a linked list, then the senior members here on c-prog would love to talk to him/her.
