You are welcome.  I'm working on Second Edition, which will be available 
in print and this group.  I've learned a lot from the First Edition. 
Being a book author isn't easy.

The best sort of exercise is a real-world problem.  Come up with a 
project you want to do and then write the code to do it.  Keep on 
progressively challenging yourself.

However, if you can't think of anything, there is always the Valladolid 
ACM problem set.  Challenging questions used in previous ACM programming 
competitions.  The c-prog Links has a link buried somewhere...

More problems there than you can shake a stick at.  If you can complete 
even a fraction of the problem sets, you'll probably do quite well at 
any quiz.
