I hadn't seen anyone post about this yet, but on Nov 20, Microsoft released Visual Studio C++ Express, an update to their Visual C++ 2005 Express product. I am glad to see they now include the Windows SDK with VC++ Express by default now (as opposed to making you download it separately). Nice little package from Microsoft, and, just like with the previous version, it's FREE!
In addition, Microsoft has teamed up with The Game Creators and released the Dark Game Development Kit for use with VC++ Express 2008 -- an entry level 2D and 3D C++ multimeida game development environment (Direct X9 SDK does need to be installed for Dark GDK, but the installer will automatically download it for you if you don't have it installed). -- Brett PS. I can't believe I am actually excited about something from Microsoft, but this is pretty darn cool!
