And one far more important hint: from my previous post you may think
that you've done everything wrong that you could do; that in fact you
did not at all understand how programming works. I know this
frustrating feeling.

Yet you can trust me, this is quite normal when learning new languages
or programming in general. It always takes time, and believe me, I
have made (and am still making) far worse errors than the ones above.
Be patient with yourself, and don't think you're incapable; such
problems are absolutely normal. Just go on, do as I suggested, and
learn from this experience. In one year you will laugh about it
heartily, and that's the important thing.
