(Assuming Windows)

1) Open a 'DOS prompt,' on the directory where your exe is being built
and run it from there.
2) Use (IIRC) Ctrl-F7 under MSVC or an equivilant 'debug-run' command
from your compiler which leaves the window open until it's closed.

Other solutions involving requesting user interaction to 'complete'
the program aren't really useful for 'real' programs.(Running 'pause'
or any other solution that involves asking the user to press a key.)
