FYI Building Xerces-C release with older Microsoft Visual Studio platforms may require that you upgrade your platform to the most recent service patch.
I had problems building with VS 2008 on an old virtual machine. The build problems apparently disappeared after I installed the latest service patch for VS 2008. Steven J. Hathaway
