I wrote and pushed a small module called sale_delivery_date to fix this bug. For 5.0 it's in the extra-50 branch, but it needs you to patch your sale module using the patch included in sale_delivery_date/patch For trunk it's in a development branch until then fix for bug #463192 if merged. I'll then merge it to the extra addons branch.
I chose to copy the delivery date along with the order, and to place the field in the "logistics" group. I still have to add a YAML test for the trunk, and the XML tests in 5.0 are very crude. Status in OpenObject Addons Modules: In Progress Bug description: from experts list Dear Ferdinand, i agree with you. In real projects i made experience that this leads sometimes to confusion. The proposed field should be the date (point of view) to calculate retrospective order date, expected delivery date of purchase orders (do we have this field?), manufacturing date. The field delivery lead time is imho onla to print on a quotation to a customer the timeframe we expect to deliver the goods to customers location.
