After Investigation in the actual trunk client web Rev. 3884 I can specify this bug more detailed:
Every stage, category name in the Configuration Section of the Sales Module is named correctly in the chosen language. When I edit one of these terms in the name field it is changed for the english version (not very user friendly because the user can't recognize that he's not changing in his locale). When he knows he has to press the translation icon, the popup shows him the english and the chosen locale version.
