What client?
We have 2x native clients (Gtk and Koo), running on 3 major platforms each,
(Linux = X+Freedesktop.org, Mac, Winblows), and the web-client that will run
at a corresponding combination of platforms (each browser + desktop will be
different).

Anybody that has ever played around with those drag-n-drop APIs will remember
they are a nightmare, generally.

So, if we arbitrarily make /one/ of them work, for a start, will people be
happy? [ no, I don't think so... ]

Status in OpenObject GTK Client: Won't Fix

Bug description:
It would be nice if we could drag files from the desktop or the file manager
and drop them into the client window to add an attachment.
This of course is out of scope for v6 but could be considered later.
