I agree with Ferdinand, no partial sum should be shown if the results do not fit the current "search page". Or at least, it should be clearly indicated that it's a partial sum.

IMHO it is very important to remove this sort of sum and replace it with "Sums" representing the Sums of the context. Example Partner -> Receivables and Payables The accountant needs to see the balance (which I added in https://bugs.launchpad.net/openobject-addons/+bug/358584) For now I'd strongly suggest to disable the display of "sum's" unless all records are displayed.
