Total number of Requests also shows Closed Requests

Bug description:
In the web-client at the "Requests" link and in the GTK client at the status
bar, there is a feature that shows number of requests.
As per my understanding, this number should not include requests that are in
"Closed" state. But this is not the case, as number of requests is counting
closed requests too.
