Olivier, I once more would like to explain the need for mandatory input of production lot e.g. in physical inventory.
A company supplies raw material, for each receiption a new system generated production lot gets assigned to the stock. Requirement: in case of a customers complain you must be in a position to find out A) if something happened during manufacturing process or B) if the the raw material you bought from a supplier caused the claim. It works with OpenERP through traceabilty with production lots ... ... as long as you don't "loose" the production lot in your stock. And this is what physical inventory enables you: with a not mandatory field 'production lot' it will happen, that some of your stock workers forget to enter it in the inventory line...... You can throw the traceability into a rubbish bin :( This is not only a requirement in food or pharmacy industry. It's definitly one in automobile industry as well. And with a growing globalized (raw material) market there might be more and more industries in the future.... And: moving from stock A to stock B is not necessarily an internal move (even if both locations are declared as 'Internal'): moving raw material from incoming location in Europe to manufacturing location in China without production lot leads into REAL trouble..... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of C2C OERPScenario, which is subscribed to the OpenERP Project Group. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/700928 Title: Validation production lot in inventory Status in OpenERP Modules (addons): In Progress Bug description: In V6 you are now allowed to enter production lots, but the system does not validate the entry. Would be nice if a validation would come up by leaving the new line. At latest when an inventory is getting confirmed. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~c2c-oerpscenario Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~c2c-oerpscenario More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
