Hello,
I have checked for the problem and found its true that value of accounts in 
product category doesn't affect the values of product, but it seems correct 
behaviour,
moreover the accounting property of product category is also based on the 
account configuration of the company (of current user), 
so, I am not getting your problem,
Can you please explain more about it?

Title:
  Products Categories settings do not affect products

Status in OpenERP Modules (addons):
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce the issue:
  1) Set the account settings of a "Products Category" via "Sales > 
Configuration> Product > Products Categories" or "Administration > 
Configuration > Parameters > Configuration Parameters"
  2) Go to a product under the same "Products Category" and look at its account 
settings.

  result observed:
  1) account settings of a "Products Category" will not affect the products 
under that category when product doesn't have its own Accounting settings

  Suggestion for usability improvement:
  1) add company field to "Sales > Configuration> Product > Products 
Categories" to better support multi company

  OpenERP versions: official distribution 6.0.2, with no updates to
  modules
